Creating our own happiness means looking for something that is not there in the first place. Alternatively, we want to substitute all the bad experiences and memories with joy. Our aim is to be ecstatic. To be free from all the negative emotions of life like anxiety, fear, anger, jealousy, envy, rejection which ultimately results in sadness. The purest form of happiness is to watch a new born baby. All the misery in the world cannot stop the new born from enjoying his own company which looks like he is on cloud nine. As the new born grows and becomes an infant, he starts recognizing people which in most case is his family. Further, toddler learns to demand for things. Then, comes the most important part in the development of a child – ATTACHMENT which becomes the root cause of misery. The same being when he was a new born was content in his own company then what stops him doing so as a toddler? As he becomes a teenager, a roller coaster ride awaits for him in the form of first love, heartbreak, peer pressure and competition, self-esteem, body image, depression, bullying and a lot others. Experiencing so many feelings at a time may prove overwhelming to anyone. Despite multiple sincere attempts to avoid these feelings, the situation sometimes proves out to be quicksand under his feet. Some people are so saddened that they stop avoiding the situation any further and break free from the clutches of ATTACHMENT by virtue of ACCEPTANCE. For those who fail to realize it in their first attempt go on to suffer as many times as it takes for them to realize the fact that HAPPINESS and MISERY are the two sides of the same coin. Happiness can never be found in outer world rather one has to turn inwards and remember what he was as a child to achieve tranquillity. We have to learn to enjoy each moment of life as it comes to us. Only then, we may experience contentment that we did as a new born.
